Our guide was Matt Henry and the information flow started right away. as promised, went to get the other cohort of riders (due to covid 19 restictions only 2 family groups were allowed, a total of 9 passengers in a 30 person modified bus, mask compliance required, windows cracked for air flow, sneeze guards on every seat). Our family of 3 (mom, dad, adult son who lives far away from home so we decided to meet up here for the holidays) took the one day old faithful/winter wildlife tour. Happy New Year all!! If you use Yellowstone Vacation Tours make sure NOT to book with Gypsy. Gypsy talks a good talk but doesn't walk the walk. Gypsy was not flexible even though we were on a private tour and showed us nothing. We were told that a storm was coming and the storm never came. We were not only unable to stop to take photos but we didn't see ANYTHING. We hired Yellowstone Vacation Tours on a private tour. When someone in our party wanted to stop for a photo, Gypsy pulled the entire group over to reprimand her. On our way into the park we past many Geysers and areas, but Gypsy just kept riding. We then proceeded to ride The Kapler Cascade and then Old Faithful. As we entered the park, we saw Bison and coyote. The receptionist and staff member providing the equipment were lovely and helpful. We booked a private snowmobile tour through Yellowstone Vacation tours on New Years Eve 2019. ![]() I highly recommend this tour and highly encourage you to book early so that you can ask for Jesse Thurgood. After the trip, he was kind enough to share with us the amateur photographer shots he took with his zoom lens camera (for free!) which were btw amazing in quality. He has a wonderful sense of humor and took great care on all of us making sure that at all times we were safe while still seeing everything that “Yellowstone wants to show us”. His passion for Yellowstone and what it represents for us and generations to come made the trip so much fun. His insight and knowledge of the park provided is with hours of learning more about this beautiful area. Along with what we called the FOG (favor of God) for having been able to see so much wild life on our trip, our favor extended to having such an informative and sweet Guide as Jesse. Amazing!! On the same trip we saw pronged horned several herds of Bison, pronghorn, Elk, many geysers, fumaroles (steam vents) and hot springs, including my favorite, Grand Prismatic Spring and much more. All parties involved survived the confrontation as the sow turned out to be a formidable foe for the male black bear who was looking to mate with her. Because of this we were able to catch their whole confrontation including seeing the Cubs scurry up to the very top of 2 trees. Had he not done that we wouldn’t have seen the male black bear coming from the other direction directly towards the sow and her Cubs. Jesse’s extra sensory bear tinglers told him to go past where we saw her (and where most other cars were parked while spectating) in anticipation that we might see her better as she’s coming towards us. Then soon after we ended up seeing a black bear sow and her 2 Cubs. Seeing one just doesn’t happen very often. This was a perfect way to do it bc we ended up seeing a grey wolf within the first hour or so of the trip since it was still early morning. He was on time to pick up, he wasted no time initially taking us where he felt we had the best chance of seeing the most wild life and planning to circle back to the places where we spotted the most. During our all-day tour with him, we could not have asked for a more amazing and experienced guide. There’s so many good things we can say about Jesse and this tour. We hired Yellowstone Vacation Tours for the upper loop Yellowstone Park tour and Jesse Thurgood was our guide. You don’t need a car in West Yellowstone since everything you need s within walking distance of the Holiday Inn. We were very pleased with each the transportation. ![]() One other thing we flew into Bozeman MT and used Shuttle to Big Sky for our transportation to and from West Yellowstone. If you book your hotel reservation through Yellowstone Vacations you will get a discount on your room rate. I would also highly recommend staying at the Holiday Inn which is located adjacent to Yellowstone Vacation Tours. The clothing, boots, gloves, and helmets were excellent and kept you warm. They were very comfortable with heated handles for both driver and passenger as well as heated seats. She is very energetic, friendly and willing do do whatever it takes to make your tour a great tour. She is very knowledgeable of Yellowstone and also the National Forest. I would highly recommend you request Margo as your guide. First we had an outstanding guide for our three days. We did 3 days of snowmobiling with Yellowstone Vacation Tours.
